Transnational School on Comics at the University of Coimbra with PAS GRAS Project dedicated session
From 22 to 24 June, the University of Coimbra will host the Transnational School “Comics Practice and Research: Methodologies”, an initiative organised within the framework of the European COS-MICs project, bringing together around 30 researchers, artists, and artist-researchers from 15 countries.
Over the course of three days, participants from the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities will explore the potential of comics as a tool for research, communication, and knowledge creation. Combining theoretical sessions with hands-on activities, the school will foster collaboration and discussion around the processes of creating, mediating, and engaging with comics in scientific contexts.
The initiative is co-organised by Anabela Marisa Azul, co-coordinator of the PAS GRAS project and researcher at the University of Coimbra, reflecting PAS GRAS’ commitment to innovative approaches to science communication and public engagement.
On the third day, the session “Practice and Research through Comics: Methodologies” will feature presentations and discussions of the work developed during the school. The session on Wednesday, 24 June, at 5pm is open to the public.
The school will take place at the Student Hub of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra and is part of the activities of the COST Action COS-MICs – Comics and Sciences through Multidisciplinary Investigation and Collaboration.
