We are pleased to welcome Doctor Deanna Arble, circadian biologist from Marquette University, USA, to the University of Coimbra and the PAS GRAS project.
As a Fulbright Scholar and new PAS GRAS collaborator, Deanna will spend the next year working with the PAS GRAS team to investigate how environmental light exposure may influence healthy weight maintenance and metabolic health.
While light is an essential environmental cue for our circadian system, its potential role in metabolism remains relatively underexplored. Deanna's research looks at how environmental light exposure can influence mitochondrial remodelling, thermogenesis and energy metabolism, bringing a fascinating new perspective to the study of metabolic health.
Join us for the next PAS GRAS Seminar with Deanna Arble, to explore how one of the most fundamental signals in our environment may be shaping our physiology, and what we are still learning about its role in metabolism.
